Have you ever felt like God was distant? Maybe your connection with him seemed foggy? I have – more often then I would like. But feelings can be dangerous. Especially when we allow them to take precedence over the facts. And the fact is that God is no closer to you when you sense his presence than he is when you don’t. That’s why feelings are problematic.
When feelings trump facts, we miss out on what God wants to do in us and through us. We avoid the habits and practices that we need to sustain our faith. We rob ourselves of teachable moments. Don’t let your feelings get in the way of facts.
